-Chancroid is more common in men then in women.

-Getting chancroid also makes it easier to be infected with HIV.

-It is mostly found in third world countries, its very rare in the US. Most of the people who get the disease in the US have traveled outside the the country where they contracted the disease.

-Chancroid used t be much more commmon before but its now rare. Only 24 new cases of this disease were reported in 2010.
